History
Our origins.
Martín Calzada Amorrortu, co-founder of NUUK mobility solutions and currently Business Strategy Director NMS, comes from a family of mechanics. His childhood was spent in workshops; between mechanical pieces, engines…, which allowed him to have advanced knowledge at a very early age.
He began working in the automotive world. After this, his initiative and enterprising character, led him to become to maintenance and repair sector as Public Works Machinery Manager, where he saw the opportunity for business and growth.
The 2008 financial crisis made him approach to the two wheels vehicles in his own project and, in few months (later), Martín Calzada became the Technical and Commercial Director. After some time dedicated on sales, rental and repair of imported electric vehicles (mostly from Asia), he verified that despite his efforts to improve the quality of the products of different manufacturers, vehicles do not meet the quality standards required by the European market.
He opted to give the firm a new way that involved developing the vehicles themselves, incorporating their own an engineering team with a deep knowledge in automotive sector and product development. Listening to the customers’ needs and his own enthusiasm and illusion he got that some large leading companies, in the sector, believe and trust in the project arriving to be involved in.
